GOA Toastmasters began in 2006 as a joint initiative between GOA NSW Inc, GOA Trustees & some members of Toastmasters who were keen to have a platform where the youth of the GOA NSW could learn how to successfully communicate, which could help them at work, in their daily life, and making friends.
The Charter members for GOA Toastmasters were: Distinguished Toast Master ( DTM) John Mascarenhas (now deceased), DTM Glenn D’Cruz (former President of the GOA NSW), Tony Colaco (former President GOA NSW), DTM Richard Shore (long time member of GOA Toastmasters, Abel do Rosario (current treasurer of GOA NSW & charter member of GOA Toastmasters).
DTM is the highest educational award that can be attained at Toastmaster International and can take between 6 years to 20 years to achieve.
In the last 13 years, many young people from the GOA Association joined GOA Toastmasters, and went on to achieve success and promotions in their professional careers.
The following GOA Toastmasters achieved their DTM awards.
Richard Shore, Glen D’Cruz, Premilla D’Cruz, Heather Campbell, Frank O’Sullivan (twice), Matt Sutton, Tom Ware, Alex Thomas & Ralph Vaz.
Over the past 13 years, many of the GOA NSW members have been elected to serve as Presidents of Toastmasters.
Meetings are held every 2nd & 4th Sunday evenings at 5.30pm sharp, at Newington Community Centre, Newington.

The agenda consists of Impromptu speaking & Prepared speeches.
An election is held every year around May to elect: A President, Vice President Education, Vice President Memberships, Vice President Public Relations, Treasurer, Secretary, Sargent-At-Arms.
Annual Fees: $135- per year or $75- for 6 months
