Goan dispora can apply for overseas citizenship of India cards in state

PANAJI: From December 1 this year, Goans settled abroad can now visit their home state without going through Delhi’s administration. The ministry of home affairs has decided to delegate the powers of granting of overseas citizenship of India (OCI) cards to foreign citizens of Goan origin to foreigners regional registration office (FRRO) Goa from December 1.
The Goa government has said that those interested in obtaining OCI card should apply for the same at the FRRO Goa as applications will not be accepted at the OCI cell of the ministry of home affairs at New Delhi after December 1.
